The German government has decided on a comprehensive property tax reform under which property tax will be levied under a new system from January 1, 2025.
The necessary revaluation of all properties in Germany will start as early as 2022. It is expected that from the end of March 2022 all property owners in Germany will be asked to submit a declaration to establish their property tax values. The declarations of assessment can be submitted from July 1, 2022 until October 31, 2022.
